At the March 7 City Council meeting, March was proclaimed American Red Cross month, in recognition of the support of Red Cross volunteers and partners, like the City of Concord.

American Red Cross Northern California Coastal Region volunteers have provided community service such as emergency and disaster response, first aid, and support for military personnel and their families. They also collect important blood donations and held 20 blood drives in Concord this past year, which received enough donations to help more than 1,000 lives! Additionally, 7,000 people were trained locally in first aid and CPR through the Red Cross in 2022.

They play an important role for the City as well, as they helped train the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and participated in Concord’s emergency preparedness fair last fall. This month celebrates the organization and its active participation in the community. Thank you, Red Cross!
