Mark DeSaulnier, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 10th district since 2015, recently used his social media platform to address several community and national issues.

On August 4, 2025, DeSaulnier posted about the Trump administration’s approach to the Chemical Safety Board, stating: “President Trump is attempting to dismantle the Chemical Safety Board, the agency that investigates incidents at chemical plants to keep our communities safe. I led more than two dozen of my colleagues in urging the Administration to change course.”

The following day, on August 5, he highlighted local leadership at a community event: “I joined the East Bay Leadership Council at their awards ceremony last week to honor exceptional leaders from our community. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the hard work of making CA-10 a better place that often goes unrecognized and I am grateful to the award”.

Later on August 5, DeSaulnier invited constituents to participate in a virtual town hall featuring California Attorney General Rob Bonta: “Still want to join tonight’s town hall with special guest @AGRobBonta? You can tune in via YouTube livestream tonight at 5:45 p.m. and ask your questions in the comments section.”

DeSaulnier has represented California’s 10th District since succeeding George Miller in Congress in 2015. Before serving in Congress, he held positions in both chambers of the California legislature and served on the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors. Born in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1952 and now residing in Concord, DeSaulnier graduated from College of the Holy Cross with a BA in 1974.
