Mark DeSaulnier has served in Congress since 2015 after succeeding George Miller. His political career includes roles in both state legislature chambers and local government within Contra Costa County. Born in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1952 and residing currently in Concord at age 71, he graduated from College of the Holy Cross with a BA degree.
