Mark DeSaulnier, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 10th district since 2015, recently shared updates on legislative issues and community engagement through a series of posts on his social media account.
On September 5, 2025, DeSaulnier addressed several topics in a single post: “Tune in to hear my thoughts on Republicans’ inability so far to fund the government as we move towards a shutdown, an effort I supported this week to force the release of the Epstein files, and a meeting I had with UC Berkeley student leaders.”
Later that day, he commented on national economic conditions under former President Trump: “Under President Trump, the unemployment rate has risen to the highest level since the pandemic and job growth has taken a nosedive. With prices and unemployment on the rise, it’s clear Trump’s policies are hurting American families all while his Administration gives even more tax” (September 5, 2025).
The following morning, DeSaulnier reflected on a local event: “It was wonderful to connect with so many of you at our walk & talk town hall this morning in Briones Regional Park in Martinez. We lucked out with perfect weather to explore the park! I’ll be sharing my remarks from the event early next week for those who weren’t able to join in” (September 6, 2025).
DeSaulnier has represented California’s 10th district since succeeding George Miller in Congress. Prior to his current role, he served in both chambers of California’s legislature and spent over a decade as a Contra Costa County Supervisor. Born in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1952 and currently residing in Concord, DeSaulnier holds a bachelor’s degree from College of the Holy Cross.
