Mark DeSaulnier, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 10th district since 2015, recently addressed several issues on his Twitter account, including support for legal protections in California, humanitarian concerns in Gaza, and local food security efforts.
On July 28, 2025, DeSaulnier highlighted the work of California Attorney General Rob Bonta during a period of national political tension. He wrote: “Amid the Trump Administration’s attacks on immigrant and LGBTQ+ communities, federal funding, environmental protections, and more, @AGRobBonta has been a staunch defender of the rule of law on behalf of us here in CA-10 and across California. He’s joining us for a virtual town”.
Later that same day, DeSaulnier marked a milestone for a regional nonprofit organization by stating: “Our team joined the celebration today for the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano’s 50th anniversary! For decades the Food Bank has been providing nutritious food to those who need it and now they distribute nearly 3 million meals monthly. Happy 50th anniversary and thank you”.
On July 29, DeSaulnier commented on ongoing events in the Middle East. He posted: “The situation in Gaza is unacceptable by any standards of humanity. I have been calling for Israel to allow for the immediate delivery and disbursement of food and humanitarian assistance to Palestinians for months. I spoke with @KQED about the disastrous situation and my appeal”.
DeSaulnier’s career includes service in both houses of the California legislature as well as local government prior to his tenure in Congress.[source] He succeeded George Miller in representing California’s 10th district.[source] Born in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1952, DeSaulnier currently resides in Concord.[source] He earned his bachelor’s degree from College of the Holy Cross in 1974.[source]
