Mark DeSaulnier, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 10th district since 2015, has been active on social media discussing recent events and legislative actions. DeSaulnier, who succeeded George Miller in Congress, shared insights into his recent activities and priorities.
On June 18, 2025, DeSaulnier visited Concord Immigration Court to observe proceedings involving four asylum-seekers detained by ICE officers. In his post, he stated: “On Monday, I visited Concord Immigration Court, where four asylum-seekers last week were detained by ICE officers, some of whom were wearing plain clothes and masked, to bear witness to the proceedings. I’ve demanded answers from ICE about the location of those detained and I”.
Later that day, DeSaulnier expressed support for a resolution led by Representative Massie concerning military engagement with Iran. He tweeted: “Proud to sign on to Rep. Massie’s resolution reasserting Congress’ sole power to declare war and block the President from using U.S. armed forces against Iran without explicit authorization or threat of imminent attack in an effort to stop the deaths of innocent people and bring”.
On June 19, 2025, DeSaulnier highlighted his commitment to constituent service as a former restaurant owner prioritizing customer service. He wrote: “As a former restaurant owner, customer service has remained a priority for me in Congress, and our team prides itself on being accessible to constituents by phone both in DC and here in CA-10. Today I sat down to answer the phone in our Walnut Creek District Office to hear”.
Mark DeSaulnier was born in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1952 and currently resides in Concord. His political career includes serving on the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors from 1994 to 2006 before moving on to roles within the California State Assembly and Senate prior to his tenure in Congress.
