Mark DeSaulnier, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 10th district since 2015, recently posted a series of tweets addressing current policy issues and recent developments affecting his constituents and the nation.
On March 25, 2026, DeSaulnier criticized federal immigration policy by stating, “In the past few months, the Trump Administration’s immigration policies have unleashed violence and terror in our communities. To discuss how I’m working with @HouseDemocrats to protect our immigrant neighbors and Americans’ civil liberties, I’m hosting a Zoom town hall on https://t.co/FvUnhWkCz8”.
Shortly after, he addressed concerns regarding workplace safety and environmental regulation: “The Trump Administration’s attempt to dismantle the US Chemical Safety Board is the latest in a string of attacks on workers and the environment. I am proud of my history to support workers through my role in the Industrial Safety Ordinance and the Refinery Flare Rule, and today https://t.co/rGWW8nSav0” (March 25, 2026).
Later that day, DeSaulnier commented on a jury decision involving major technology companies: ” A jury just found that Meta and YouTube harmed a young woman user through their addictive design features that affected her mental health. This is a big step in the fight to hold social media companies accountable for the harm they are causing young people.” (March 25, 2026).
DeSaulnier has represented California’s 10th district since succeeding George Miller in Congress. Before his tenure in Congress beginning in 2015, he served in both chambers of California’s legislature as well as on the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors. Born in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1952 and currently residing in Concord at age 71, DeSaulnier graduated from College of the Holy Cross with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1974.
