Mark DeSaulnier, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 10th district since 2015, posted a series of messages on March 31, 2026, highlighting his positions on labor rights, transgender visibility, and immigration court issues.
In his first message marking Farmworkers Day, DeSaulnier stated: “On Farmworkers Day, I am thinking of the thousands of men and women whose sacrifice and advocacy improved the lives of countless workers in this country. As a member of @Labor_Caucus and @EdWorkforceDems, I will always stand in solidarity with America’s working people in the” (posted March 31, 2026).
Later that day, he acknowledged Transgender Day of Visibility with another post: “Trans people have always existed and always will. On Transgender Day of Visibility we celebrate their existence and recommit ourselves to fighting to ensure their right to live openly and safely is always protected.” (posted March 31, 2026).
In a third message related to local judicial matters, DeSaulnier addressed concerns about changes in immigration court operations: “Today I sent a letter to @TheJusticeDept demanding answers on the impending closure of the San Francisco Immigration Court and the impact it will have on the Concord Immigration Court and our community. Given the low capacity and enormous caseload of these two courts, reducing” (posted March 31, 2026).
DeSaulnier has served in Congress since succeeding George Miller in California’s 10th District in 2015. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he was a member of both houses of the California State Legislature as well as serving on the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors. Born in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1952 and currently residing in Concord at age 71, DeSaulnier holds a BA from College of the Holy Cross.
