Mark DeSaulnier, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 10th district, shared his thoughts on several pressing issues through a series of tweets in early June 2025. His statements reflect his ongoing commitment to social justice and public safety.
On June 1, DeSaulnier expressed his sentiments regarding Pride Month. He noted that “Pride Month has historically been both an act of protest and a joyful recognition of resilience.” He emphasized the importance of celebrating the freedom for everyone to live authentically and reaffirmed his dedication to fighting for equality, wishing California’s 10th district a happy Pride Month.
The following day, June 2, he addressed the issue of rising antisemitism in another tweet. DeSaulnier stated that he is “incredibly concerned about the sharp rise in antisemitism and hate.” He extended his thoughts to Jewish communities in Boulder and nationwide, underscoring Americans’ moral responsibility to confront hate wherever it exists.
Later on June 2, DeSaulnier highlighted Gun Violence Awareness Month with another post. He described it as “a solemn remembrance of those who have senselessly lost their lives to gun violence.” The congressman expressed disappointment over some Republican colleagues’ lack of support for addressing this epidemic.
Mark DeSaulnier has been serving in Congress since 2015 after succeeding George Miller. Before his congressional tenure, he was part of the California State Assembly and Senate and served on the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors.
