Mark DeSaulnier, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 10th district since 2015, used his social media platforms on April 16 and 17, 2026, to communicate with constituents about legislative activities and ongoing political issues.
On April 16, DeSaulnier invited the public to participate in a virtual town hall via YouTube livestream. He posted: “It’s not too late to join this afternoon’s virtual town hall! Around1:30 pm, tune into the YouTube livestream and leave your questions in the comments section: https://t.co/VfIVeO75QQ” (April 16, 2026).
Later that day, he addressed recent developments in labor policy at a subcommittee hearing. In his post he stated: “At today’s @EdWorkforceDems subcommittee hearing, I outlined the Trump Administration’s attacks on important protections for American workers, retirees, and their families. We should be strengthening programs that safeguard Americans’ health care and retirement plans, not eroding https://t.co/xiM0ai7I9y” (April 16, 2026).
On April 17, DeSaulnier commented on his vote regarding U.S. military engagement with Iran. He wrote: “I spoke with @KQED about the why I voted YES on the Wars Power resolution today to end the President Trump’s reckless, illegal war with Iran and how House Republicans have shamelessly refused to stand up against the President’s madness and rein in his abuses of power.” (April 17, 2026).
Mark DeSaulnier has represented California’s 10th District in Congress since replacing George Miller in 2015. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of the California State Assembly from 2006 to 2008 and served in the California Senate from 2008 to 2015 after more than a decade on the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors. Born in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1952 and currently residing in Concord at age seventy-one, DeSaulnier holds a BA from College of the Holy Cross.
