Mark DeSaulnier, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 10th district since 2015, announced a series of local initiatives and voiced criticism of former President Donald Trump in a series of posts on April 2, 2026.
In his first post, DeSaulnier stated, “Simply put, my number one priority in Congress is to make life better for the people I serve. I’m proud to announce today that I am advancing over $46.7 million for 20 projects in our community that would do just that! These projects will invest in safety and ease congestion for” (April 2, 2026).
Later the same day, DeSaulnier addressed voting rights and former President Trump’s recent actions regarding mail-in ballots: “Trump just recently voted by mail in a special election in Florida, but now he wants to keep YOU from voting by mail. This is a classic example of rights for me but not for thee, and it’s illegal.

In another post on April 2, DeSaulnier commented on Trump’s approach to foreign policy spending: “Trump just said the quiet part out loud – he’s more focused on fighting foreign wars than he is making the lives of Americans better. He wants another $200 billion for his war in Iran, money that could go to lowering costs, supporting working families, and providing health care https://t.co/mzpqzZni79”.
Mark DeSaulnier has held public office since serving on the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors from 1994 to 2006. He later served in the California State Assembly (2006–2008) and California Senate (2008–2015), before succeeding George Miller as congressman for California’s 10th district in 2015.
