Mark DeSaulnier, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 10th district since 2015, shared updates this week about his recent and upcoming activities in the district through a series of posts on social media.
On August 1, DeSaulnier posted about his engagement with constituents: “This week we hosted two town halls – one in Oakley and one in Walnut Creek – and we’re gearing up for another town hall next Tuesdaywith AG Rob Bonta. Tune in to hear more about these events and the rest of August District Work Period.” The congressman emphasized ongoing opportunities for public dialogue during the August District Work Period.
Later that day, DeSaulnier highlighted a visit to a local service provider: “Today we toured the Trinity Center in Walnut Creek, which provides services ranging from meals, showers, and laundry to substance abuse recovery, workforce development, and housing support for people experiencing homelessness in our community. We also discussed the impacts of”. The post referenced the variety of resources available at Trinity Center for individuals experiencing homelessness.
In a subsequent post on August 1, DeSaulnier addressed legal challenges to federal policies: “Many of the big wins against the Trump Administration’s unconstitutional and harmful policies have come from the courts, including cases filed by the State of California. Join our virtual town hall on Tuesday at 5:45 p.m. with special guest California @AGRobBonta to hear about”. He invited constituents to join an upcoming virtual town hall featuring California Attorney General Rob Bonta.
DeSaulnier has represented California’s 10th District since replacing George Miller in Congress in 2015. Before his tenure in Congress, he served on the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors from 1994 to 2006, then as a member of the California State Assembly (2006-2008) and California Senate (2008-2015). Born in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1952, DeSaulnier resides in Concord and is an alumnus of College of the Holy Cross (BA, 1974).
