Mark DeSaulnier, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 10th district since 2015, recently expressed his views on several issues via social media. DeSaulnier, who has a long history in public service including roles in the California State Assembly and Senate, shared his thoughts on oversight, economic policy, and political opposition.
On June 12, 2025, Mark DeSaulnier posted a tweet defending Senator Alex Padilla’s actions. He stated that “@SenAlexPadilla is a dedicated public servant who was doing his job by conducting oversight and demanding accountability from an Administration that is acting unlawfully and immorally. This is what fascism looks like.”
Later that day, DeSaulnier addressed an economic report released by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). In his tweet at 20:46 UTC, he remarked that “The CBO, an independent government agency, reported today what House Democrats have been saying about the GOP’s One Big Ugly Bill from the start: it would take away from the poor to make the ultra-wealthy even richer. This reverse Robin Hood bill is the opposite of what American” citizens need.
In another post made at 21:01 UTC on June 12th, DeSaulnier showed solidarity with his fellow Californian colleagues in support of Senator Alex Padilla against actions by former President Trump’s administration. He declared that he was “Proud to stand with my California colleagues in defense of @SenAlexPadilla and against the authoritarianism of the Trump Administration. We will not stop speaking truth to power and standing up for our communities.”
Mark DeSaulnier continues to serve as a prominent voice in Congress advocating for accountability and fairness within government policies.
