Mark DeSaulnier, a current member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 10th district, has been actively engaging with key issues and constituents as demonstrated by his recent social media updates. These posts reflect his involvement in energy regulation, community meetings, and personal reflections.
On May 7, 2025, Mark DeSaulnier highlighted the importance of regulatory oversight in Contra Costa County’s refineries during a TransportDems hearing. He emphasized that these sites are central to the energy transition but also pose hazardous material risks to the community.
The following day on May 8, DeSaulnier shared details about a series of meetings held in his Washington D.C. office. In this post, he mentioned discussions with leaders from Antioch City, the ACLU of Northern California, higher education administrators from California universities, and welcomed a student group from Dorris.
Later on May 8, DeSaulnier reflected on personal memories tied to Mother’s Day. He described going through a scrapbook made by his mother containing articles from the Contra Costa Times in this tweet. This experience was both nostalgic and an acknowledgment of his mother’s supportive role throughout his life.
Mark DeSaulnier has been serving in Congress since replacing George Miller in 2015. His previous roles include service in the California State Assembly and Senate as well as on the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors. Born in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1952 and residing in Concord now at age 71, he graduated from College of the Holy Cross with a BA in 1974.
