Mark DeSaulnier, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 10th district and a senior member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, recently shared updates on his official activities through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).

On August 20, 2025, DeSaulnier reported on his visit to areas affected by the Palisades Fire. He wrote: “As a senior member on @TransportDems, which has oversight over federal management of emergencies and natural disasters, I visited the neighborhoods devastated by the Palisades Fire, where I was briefed by the Army Corps on the latest in their debris removal effort and by the LA”.

The following day, August 21, DeSaulnier encouraged constituents to join an online town hall with Representative McGovern. He stated: “If you haven’t RSVP’d to attend in person, you can still join our town hall this evening with @RepMcGovern via livestream. Tune in at 6:30 on Facebook and YouTube to hear about how House Democrats are using every legislative tool at our disposal to push back against Republicans’”.

On August 22, DeSaulnier reflected on his trip to Los Angeles and acknowledged city leadership: “I wrapped up my quick trip to Los Angeles earlier this week by meeting with my friend and former Assembly and House colleague, @MayorOfLA. Thanks to Mayor Bass for all that you do.”

DeSaulnier has represented California’s 10th district in Congress since 2015 after succeeding George Miller. Before joining Congress, he served in the California State Assembly from 2006 to 2008 and in the California Senate from 2008 to 2015. His career also includes service on the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors from 1994 to 2006. Born in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1952 and currently residing in Concord, DeSaulnier holds a BA from College of the Holy Cross.
