Mark DeSaulnier, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 10th district since 2015, recently shared several updates on social media. Known for his active involvement in legislative matters and community issues, DeSaulnier used the platform to discuss a range of topics.

On June 6, 2025, Mark DeSaulnier commemorated the 81st anniversary of D-Day by honoring Papa Jake Larson. In his post, he stated “As we recognize the 81stanniversary of D-Day, I took to the House Floor to honor CA-10’s very own Papa Jake Larson @storytimewithpapajake, a 102-year-old veteran who was one the 160,000 Allied troops who landed on the beaches of Normandy to liberate Europe from fascism.”

Later that day at approximately 17:30 UTC, DeSaulnier announced a new legislative initiative aimed at expanding disability insurance coverage. He expressed pride in introducing this bill alongside Representative Bobby Scott. According to his tweet “This week, I was proud to introduce a bill with @BobbyScott that would ensure workers can obtain disability insurance for behavioral health and substance use disorders through their employers the same way they can for physical health issues.”

In another post made on June 6th at around 18:25 UTC, DeSaulnier addressed National Gun Violence Awareness Day by reflecting on personal loss and legislative achievements. He wrote “Today I’m marking National Gun Violence Awareness Day to remember all the lives lost to gun violence, including my dad.” He also mentioned progress made in recent years regarding gun legislation.

Mark DeSaulnier has served in various political roles over decades and is known for his advocacy on numerous social issues.
