On June 6, 2025, Mark DeSaulnier commemorated the 81st anniversary of D-Day by honoring Papa Jake Larson. In his post, he stated “As we recognize the 81stanniversary of D-Day, I took to the House Floor to honor CA-10’s very own Papa Jake Larson @storytimewithpapajake, a 102-year-old veteran who was one the 160,000 Allied troops who landed on the beaches of Normandy to liberate Europe from fascism.”
