Mark DeSaulnier, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 10th district since 2015, posted a series of messages on November 19, 2025, addressing the loss of local leaders and criticizing federal education policy.

In a post made at 19:25 UTC, DeSaulnier stated, “I took to the House Floor today to recognize the life and service of a dedicated public servant in our community, Mike Doyle. After serving in the U.S. Air Force in Germany, Mike moved to Danville and spent 26 years on Danville Town Council, giving back to the town which he https://t.co/4KUeIK5LZg”.

Later that day at 20:59 UTC, he commented on another community loss: “Our community has lost an incredible leader and wonderful person. I’m deeply saddened by the passing of Gwen Regalia, who served for two decades on Walnut Creek City Council, including five terms as mayor. She was a mentor to me and many others, and Contra Costa is so much better”.

At 21:11 UTC on November 19, DeSaulnier criticized recent federal actions regarding education funding: “The Trump Administration’s latest actions to dismantle the Department of Education will harm our poorest students as anti-poverty programs are defunded. How is failing to invest in the future of our country “America First”?
