Mark DeSaulnier, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 10th district, recently shared his perspectives on various national issues through a series of tweets. Known for his long-standing political career, DeSaulnier replaced George Miller in 2015 and has served in multiple capacities within the California government prior to his current role.
On June 6, 2025, DeSaulnier expressed concerns about the current administration’s treatment of federal workers. He stated, “As the Administration continues its baseless attacks on federal workers, I was proud to speak on the House Floor to recognize the ways public servants keep Americans safe, healthy, and financially secure.”
Later that day, DeSaulnier reported his interactions with former Secretaries of Education and Labor from Trump’s administration during a committee meeting. On June 6, he tweeted: “This week, in committee, I had the chance to speak with Trump’s Secretaries of Education and Labor and ask for their commitment to protect students with disabilities and support working Americans’ mental health, and I will continue to hold them accountable on these issues.”
In another tweet posted on June 8, 2025, DeSaulnier criticized immigration enforcement actions in California. He commented: “As ICE terrorizes communities in California with chaotic immigration sweeps, Trump’s order to deploy National Guard soldiers on our streets is unwarranted and unacceptable. He should immediately reverse course and focus on protecting our communities, not terrorizing them.”
Mark DeSaulnier has been actively involved in public service since 1994 when he joined the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors. His extensive experience includes roles in both state assembly and senate before transitioning to federal office.
