Later the same day, DeSaulnier invited veterans to participate in an upcoming town hall and resource fair scheduled for November 22nd at the Walnut Creek Center for Community Arts. The event aims to provide information on federal and local resources available to veterans. In another post on November 18, DeSaulnier expressed his commitment to preventing safety incidents at oil refineries in the Bay Area. He stated his opposition to any attempts by President-elect Trump to shut down the Chemical Safety Board and pledged congressional action if necessary.
