Mark DeSaulnier highlights local healthcare improvements and historical justice efforts

Mark DeSaulnier, a U.S. Congressman representing California's 10th district, has been active in various initiatives as demonstrated through his recent social media posts. DeSaulnier, who has served in Congress since 2015 after replacing George Miller, has shared insights into his visits and discussions that focus on community health and historical justice.

On February 8, 2025, Mark DeSaulnier shared his visit to the UCSF Benioff Children’s Outpatient Center in Walnut Creek. He stated, "I toured the infusion center, sports medicine gym, and perioperative center at @UCSF Benioff Children’s Outpatient Center in Walnut Creek to learn how they are improving the patient experience for young people in our district and across the Bay Area."

On February 10, 2025, he highlighted the role of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) post-Great Recession. He mentioned its significance by stating: "The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau was created after the Great Recession to protect Americans from predatory actions by big banks. Since its creation the CFPB has returned billions of dollars to American families who have been harmed by banks, credit card companies..."

In another tweet dated February 11, 2025, DeSaulnier emphasized Black History Month by discussing civil rights issues within his community. He remarked: "This Black History Month, we’re putting a spotlight on the fight for civil rights in our own community. I spoke with my friend Reverend Diana McDaniel who has been a leader in fighting for justice for the Port Chicago 50 as part of our Discussions with DeSaulnier series (1/2)."
