Mark DeSaulnier, a U.S. Congressman representing California's 10th district, recently shared updates on social media regarding his town hall event and related discussions. DeSaulnier has been in Congress since 2015, succeeding George Miller, and has a history of public service in various governmental roles.

On February 20, 2025, DeSaulnier invited the public to join a town hall meeting at St. Mary's College to discuss significant issues concerning "the President’s & DOGE head Elon Musk’s attempts to undermine the federal government." He anticipated a large turnout for the event scheduled for that evening at 6:30 p.m., with check-in beginning an hour earlier. The full tweet can be accessed here.

Following the event on February 21, 2025, DeSaulnier issued an apology to those who were unable to attend due to venue capacity limits. He informed constituents that the town hall was available for streaming on Facebook and YouTube and promised more events in the future to accommodate interested attendees. The full message is available here.

Later that day, DeSaulnier reflected on the town hall as an opportunity for community members to express concerns about what he described as "the Administration’s illegal and dangerous actions." He also mentioned speaking with KTVU prior to the event about potential impacts on Americans and actions by House Democrats. His reflections can be read here.
