Mark DeSaulnier, a U.S. Congressman representing California's 10th district, shared several updates on March 25, 2025, via social media. The congressman addressed various issues including accountability efforts towards the Trump Administration, gender wage disparities, and cuts to Social Security.
On March 25, 2025, Mark DeSaulnier announced an upcoming live town hall on Facebook from his Washington D.C. office. He stated that the purpose of this event is to provide an update on House Democrats' efforts to hold the Trump Administration accountable for actions perceived as detrimental to public programs and government integrity. "Tomorrow around 3 p.m. PT I will be going live on Facebook for a town hall from our DC office to provide an update on House Democrats’ efforts to hold the Trump Administration accountable as they cut programs Americans rely on and illegally try to dismantle the government."
In another post made later that day, DeSaulnier expressed concern over the worsening gender wage gap. He noted that women are earning significantly less than men and emphasized his commitment alongside colleagues in advocating for equal pay through legislative action. "Last year, for the first time in over two decades, the gender wage gap got even worse, with women making on average ¾ of what men make. This is unacceptable."
DeSaulnier also criticized President Trump's administration and its decisions regarding Social Security. He highlighted how cuts to Social Security services could impact millions of Americans who depend on these benefits for their livelihoods. "President Trump & DOGE’s cuts to Social Security, including eliminating entire local offices and firing staff, threatens the Agency’s ability to deliver millions of Americans earned benefits each month."
