Mark DeSaulnier shares Easter greetings, mourns Pope Francis, and promotes town hall

Mark DeSaulnier, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 10th District since 2015, has recently communicated through social media on a range of subjects from public greetings to mournful tributes and local community engagements.

On April 20, 2025, DeSaulnier expressed his goodwill toward those celebrating Easter. He extended his best wishes to individuals in his district and across the country, writing, "From all of us on Team DeSaulnier, wishing a joyous Easter to those celebrating in CA-10 and around the country! I hope you enjoy the day with loved ones."

Subsequently, on April 21, 2025, DeSaulnier commented on the passing of Pope Francis. Reflecting on the life of the pontiff, he tweeted, "With the death of Pope Francis, the world has lost an impassioned advocate for peace and compassion.  Throughout his life, Pope Francis stood in solidarity with the poor and marginalized. As a proud recipient of Jesuit education, I was honored to attend the Pope’s 2015 address."

Later that same day, DeSaulnier promoted an upcoming town hall event in Lafayette, set for April 23, 2025. He encouraged constituents to "RSVP soon to confirm your spot or join us via livestream on Facebook or YouTube."

Mark DeSaulnier has a diverse background in politics, having served in various capacities including the California State Assembly, the California Senate, and on the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors. He resides in Concord and is an alumnus of College of the Holy Cross.
