On March 31, 2025, DeSaulnier reflected on Cesar Chavez Day, stating, "This Cesar Chavez Day, I am reflecting on the long struggle Chavez led to advance the cause of farmworkers and all working people. As a member of @Labor_Caucus and @EdWorkforceDems, it’s an honor to be a small part of carrying on his legacy in supporting the rights of workers". He emphasized his role in continuing the efforts started by Chavez in advocating for workers' rights.
On the same day, DeSaulnier also expressed his support for the transgender community in a tweet concerning Trans Day of Visibility. He remarked, "While the Trump Administration & Republicans in Congress try to erase trans people, I'm proud to stand with my colleagues in the @EqualityCaucus as we celebrate #TransDayOfVisibility. Trans people deserve the freedom to live openly, make their own medical decisions, & be". He criticized the actions of the Trump Administration and other political groups attempting to marginalize transgender individuals.
On April 1, 2025, DeSaulnier discussed a legislative proposal in Congress, sharing, "I was proud to vote for a measure today that would allow for a vote on a bill that would give new parents in Congress the ability to vote by proxy for the first weeks of their child’s life. It’s not lost on me that the leaders of the so-called 'pro-family' party tried their". He noted the irony of opposition from those who identify as pro-family towards measures supporting family-related flexibility in legislative duties.
